“Something they don’t tell you about being a Christian? It doesn’t automatically make your problems go away. Jesus was a man of sorrows…
At least I wasn’t alone in that.”
Dreamer is not for the faint of heart, and while the story of Elleni may be fictional, it is by no means ‘fake.’ Dreamer is saturated with scripture, but even so, it was written for the Christian youth of today. Our world is not pretty, in fact, lately, it’s been downright scary, but as we see what’s coming over the horizon, at times we’re too anxious to even get through the next day. Between social media trends, political correctness, and the polarity dividing our culture, as Christians, we need a spot we can retreat to long enough to block out the noise and find a sense of rest, hope, and purpose for our souls. We need something to hold us together, and we need the freedom to say, “Lord, help. The well is dry.”
I am writing this out in my late twenties, just ten years after my own High School graduation, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished to speak to the younger version of myself. Still, while I may not be able to do that exactly, I have the next best thing. I have you.
Whoever told you that being a Christian would make your life easier lied. Still, there is hope. We’re not Christians because we have it all together, rather, we are Christians because we need Jesus.
We dream of the day we get to see Him face to face. We dream of a future where we can live out our faith boldly and be lights to our ever-darkening culture. We dream of a future and a hope. If this is as true for you as it is for me, then let me be the first to invite you, my dear Dreamer, to join me in this journey.
As we read each chapter of my book, let’s open up Scripture and see how the Lord wishes to work in our own lives here and now.
As we discover what the Lord has to say to us through this study, keep in mind that you’re not alone.
Whatever you’re facing, whatever you’re going through, God knows you, He loves you, and He wishes to work mightily in your life today. Let Him.
And finally, please know that your story is not over; we are all on this life journey together.
All My Love.
